As
some of you know, Romulan Praetor Neral died yesterday from a heart
attack. Early medical reports indicate no foul play, noting instead that
the Praetor's death does appear to be a result of stress-induced heart
failure. The Romulan leader's health had been declining ever since the
end of the Dominion War.
Today, Proconsul Hiren was confirmed
by the Senate as the new Praetor of the Romulan people. Praetor Hiren is
a much-loved Romulan politician who favors continued strong ties with
the Federation, Klingons, and other Alliance members.
Our thoughts are with the Romulan people as they deal with the sudden loss of Praetor Neral.
